DESIGN SYSTEM SPRINT

One component library your designers and engineers both use.

In 6 to 8 weeks we turn a drifting UI into a Figma library and a matching coded library in Storybook, then move your key screens onto it. When ZapBook did this, feature development time dropped 35%.

WHO IT'S FOR

Teams book this sprint when the UI starts slowing down the roadmap.

01

You have more than one button.

Different people built different parts of the product, and each brought their own components. Now there are several versions of everything, and nobody knows which one is current.

02

Figma and the code disagree.

Designers hand over screens that engineers can't build from existing parts, so every feature starts with rebuilding the basics.

03

A new product needs the same look.

A white-label version, a mobile app or a second product is coming, and copying today's UI would copy its problems too.

04

UI work pads every estimate.

Engineers add days to each feature “for the front end”, and the redesign you planned keeps moving to next quarter.

HOW IT WORKS

What happens in a design system sprint, week by week?

You keep shipping features the whole time. New components go live screen by screen through your normal releases.

01

WEEK 1

Audit and scope

We inventory every component, colour and type style in your product and write the scope: what merges, what goes and which screens move first. Anything outside the $8,000 scope gets a written quote here. You can stop here and keep the document.

02

WEEKS 2–3

Tokens and the Figma library

Colours, type, spacing and states become design tokens. The core components get built in Figma with every variant your product actually uses.

03

WEEKS 3–6

Coded components in Storybook

The same components get built in your codebase, documented in Storybook and matched to Figma one to one. A senior engineer reviews every merge.

04

WEEKS 6–8

Key screens and handoff

We move your key screens onto the new library (up to 10), write the usage docs and run a handoff session with your designers and engineers.

ZapBook went from three component libraries to one.

Leisure & venues booking

Years of growth had left ZapBook's operator dashboard and booking flows with three separate component libraries. We audited the interface, set design tokens and built one Figma system with a matching Storybook library, then rolled it into the production front end screen by screen. Handoff came 1.8 months after the first audit. Feature development time dropped 35%.

This work ran inside our longer embedded engagement with ZapBook, delivered by the same team of 4.
